25 Days of Christmas: 11-15

Day 11 - Make candy canes out of pipe cleaners & tri-beads. I remember making plenty of these as as kid, so I was excited to try them with Jake & Mal. The beads were surprisingly hard to find, but I finally tracked them down at Michael's. This was a good Saturday craft since it required quite a bit of help for their little fingers, but they loved doing it.
Love that concentration face!
Admiring their work
Day 12 - Learn about Jesus' birth in Sunday school. I have no pictures to go with this day since it wasn't actually an activity that I planned. The kids took a three hour nap that afternoon, so there just wasn't time for an activity at home.

Day 13 - Christmas stickers! Who knew that a tree scribbled onto construction paper by Mommy could be so exciting? They love stickers!
Do we see a few personality differences in their artwork?
Day 14 - Shop for gifts for each other. The four of us trooped to Target Tuesday evening to let Jake & Mal each pick out a toy for each other. I helped Mal shop, & she ended up with these trains for Jake. It's a good thing that Mommy has inside info on Christmas presents & knows they'll come in handy.
Jake & Daddy found a Mrs. Potato Head for Mal. He proudly told me, right in front of Mal, what they bought. We're still working on the concept of presents being a secret until they're given.
Day 15 - Eating custard (an Erwin family tradition)...

& reading about Jesus' birth in small group & making angels out of muffin cups & cotton balls. Here's my little class from Wednesday night, minus Emmie who was too young to care too much about her angel.

Lots more fun on the way!

But Emmie's mommy was thrilled to have her first craft! Thank you!

What great hands on ideas, I never would have thought of these projects!
