Since the kids are old enough now to really get into the Christmas spirit, I decided that I would plan a calendar of fun holiday things for us to do from December 1st through Christmas Day. Some days are bigger than others, but they seem to be enjoying it so far.
Day 1 - Read The Night Before Christmas at bed time. Despite their expressions here, I think they really liked it, & we've read it several times since.
Day 2 - Open our box of Christmas stuffed animals & characters. They've been carrying them around since then & sleep with an armload in their beds each night.Day 3 - Purchase & decorate a little tree for Jake & Mal's room. They had fun picking out all the trimmings with me at Target, including colored lights...
candy canes...
snowmen...
& snowflakes!
Proud of their finished product
Kissing their tree goodnight
Day 4 - Christmas party for children of our Bible class members at the Pierces' house. RaeAnn planned a great morning for the kids with cake decorating...
a Christmas story...baby Jesus crafts...& door hanger making!
Day 5 - The Trains at Northpark & Scrooge's Puppet Theater with Daddy. I hosted a baby shower for a friend on Sunday, so these activities achieved some Christmas fun & a kid-free house.Snuggling with Daddy that night during story time
More fun on the way!
