Car Seat Evolution

Jake & Mal finally moved up to their big kid car seats about a month ago. Since they're so small for their age, we got to put off the buying of more car seats a little longer than some people. It does stink sometimes that you have to unstrap them every time you get out of the car, rather than just taking the carrier out, but my arms were about to break trying to lift them in the carriers anyway.

You know I always love a little trip down memory lane, so here we go. This was right before their first car trip when we brought them home from the hospital. They were four days old & so tiny! Here we are maxing out the capacity of the carriers. This was taken at the end of May.
And here are my big kids! We strapped them in the seats inside before installing them just to test them out, & they both thought it was hilarious.
I've heard from a lot of people that their kids liked the big car seats much better than the carriers, but this doesn't seem to be true for us. The twins loved their carriers because they loved to nap in the car, so I think these seats being more upright is throwing them off a bit. Hopefully, they'll adjust!
