Baby A

Jake Thomas Chamblee is our firstborn & was referred to throughout my pregnancy by many doctors, nurses & technicians as Baby A. Actually, our very first sonogram pictures, taken at 6 weeks, don't even show Jake. That was back when we thought we were only having one baby! The doctor assured me that that "other little spot" below the one he said was the baby "was just nothing." Four weeks later, we learned that it was indeed something. It was Jake!

Entering the world at 6 lb 1 ozJake, also known as The Jakester, Buddy, The Chunk, Buckeroo & all kinds of other names, is such a fun little boy! I think he'll be our more sensitive, tender-hearted child. He doesn't make too much of a fuss when Mal climbs on him or steals his toys & tends to be more easy going. We used to think he was our quiet child, but we're no longer under that illusion. He shrieks very loudly when he's happy & loves to say Da-da, Ma-ma & Hi. Jake has grin that lights up the room, & he smiles easily.

He isn't walking yet but cruises like a champ & has taken a couple of "falling steps" toward things, so I think we're close. He now has five teeth & loves to lick and/or chew on any piece of furniture. Jake loves to perform & has several tricks. When you ask, he can show you what a lizard does (sticks his tongue out repeatedly), what a motorboat says & what a dragon says. He also loves to wave, give "big hugs" & clap. The clapping is a new trick, & he pretty much just applauds for any & everything that makes him happy.

Jake is a big eater & will eat just about anything. He is also a major Daddy's boy & will almost always choose Justin over anyone else. He also loves to be tickled & has the best belly laugh! We are so proud of our sweet, funny boy! Here are Jake's growth pictures over the last eleven months.
