We Made It!

I can't believe it's finally here! The twins are coming tomorrow! Here's my final belly pic, at 36 weeks:
I've been treated to lots of good meals lately. Everyone has been very sweet to make sure that I get my fix of whatever restaurant I want before it becomes a little more difficult to eat out. For our last official date night before kids, J & I went to La Duni on Saturday night. For those who haven't tried it, it's a great little Latin American restaurant just off of Knox & 75. Date nights have certainly changed a bit over the course of my pregnancy. We had to ask for a table since it's always a toss-up whether or not I'll fit into a booth, & we had an early dinner, then came home, watched the Olympics & went to bed early. A girl needs her sleep!
I have had so many calls, cards, emails & visits from friends this week, just checking on me. Thank you all for being so sweet & thoughtful! Our big goal this week was just to make it through Tuesday with no excitement since J was in Maine on a business trip. We were successful, so I will be much more cooperative tomorrow than I would have been if they were trying to deliver these guys on Tuesday while he was gone. J is always the calm one at my side (you're shocked that I'm not always calm, right?), & I need him there.

J's parents & sister are flying in this afternoon for the big event, & then my parents will drive down tomorrow morning. I am so excited about having them all here on "D-Day." We are going to Kirby's, my favorite steakhouse, tonight for one more celebratory dinner. For weeks, I've been traumatized by the thought of how long I have to go without food or water before surgery, so this will definitely soften the blow. J thinks I'm being ridiculous, but not much ranks higher than food with a pregnant girl - he just doesn't understand!

In just a few days, this room that we've been preparing for so long will actually have babies in it. Even though we've been anticipating their arrival for months, it's still surreal that it's finally about to happen.I really have enjoyed my pregnancy so much, & have been so blessed to have good health & no complications all the way through. J & I don't know why God chooses to pour out such rich blessings in our lives, but we are certainly grateful. Thanks for reading my novel of a post. The next one will be introducing the newest members of the Chamblee life!
