Self Control

Definition: Resisting the urge to actually wring your children's necks when you find that they've emptied the contents of their closet onto the floor of their bedroom & play room, including a bunch of feathers that were on some VBS treasures they found. Instead, calmly but firmly scolding them & sending them to time out, then making them help you clean it up.

Sharing The News

When I found out I was pregnant the first time, I was too excited to contain the news, even for one minute. I ran into our bedroom, woke Justin up & told him right away. This time, I was determined to do something a little more special.

So, when I saw two pink lines on the test I took the Sunday before we started VBS, I kept my little secret under lock & key. The next day, the kids & I went to the mall & bought Daddy some prizes for a make-up Father's Day. The real holiday was a bit of a bust in our house since I was only about four days post-op from my foot surgery, so I wanted to make it up to him.

The first words out of his mouth were, "Baby Chams? You're already pregnant?" We were both a bit surprised at how quickly this little one came on the scene!

These cutie pies got to show off their new shirts via Skype to all of our family & then again to our small group last night. They, of course, have no idea just how their little worlds are about to be rocked, but they love the shirts!

This Feels Odd

Up to this point, the Chamblee family has never had an odd number of members. We started with just the two of us...
& then jumped ahead to a family of four!
But in mid-March, we'll be welcoming this little peanut, making us a family of five!
For most people, carrying one baby at a time is normal, but twins have been my version of normal, so this is a whole new adventure!
We are so excited & feel immensely blessed to be entrusted with another of God's precious ones. I am about 7.5 weeks along & feeling great so far. Our official due date is March 19, which is J's birthday, but I'll have a scheduled c-section about a week early.
Here we go!

Grocery Shopping is Hard

Our trip to Target this morning apparently wore Jake out. He passed out in the car & then stayed asleep when I brought him in. Because, you know, it's tough being chauffeured around while eating snacks.
