Mal's First Date (With Daddy)

A few weeks ago, Mal was having trouble mastering the #2 portion of potty training & preferred instead to do the deed in her panties. This, of course, was not preferable to Mommy, so we ramped up the incentives to spur along her progress. I made a sticker chart (with far fewer boxes than the original) exclusively for #2, which she got to use some new cupcake stickers to fill each time she succeeded.

Another reward promised by Daddy was a special date just for the two of them. So, after mastering this grown-up skill, Daddy made good on his promise & took her to Chili's for a special dessert after dinner one night. She excitedly told me over & over, "I go on a date!"

Jake, on the other hand, was not so thrilled with Mal's special reward & sobbed pitifully at being left behind. Luckily, a big box had arrived that day, so I distracted him with helping me open it. The hippo chair inside is for Beau, but Jake was happy to test it out for him. What's the best thing to read in a hippo chair? Your Bible, of course!
Daddy reported that Mal really didn't even eat that much of her lava cake & ice cream, but she was certainly hyped up when they got home. Special time with Prince Charming will do that to you!

We consoled Jake with the fact that, when he learns to use the potty like Mal, he'll get a special date with Mommy. Hopefully that happens soon, but I'm not holding my breath!
