The kids often play in the living room after meals while I clean up the kitchen. As they headed in there to read some books on Monday, I heard Jake say, "I sit in you lap." He often mixes up the subject of his sentences, & as I looked in there, I realized that he wanted Mal to sit in his lap.
For him, sitting in his lap can also mean just sitting right in front of him, not necessarily on top of his legs. Once Mal obliged, he sweetly looked over her shoulder as she read a book to him.
I love that, in between all their sibling squabbles, they love each other so much that sitting side by side just isn't quite close enough.
